Broke my mirror motor ( my fault) on my new f150. Thinking that this would cost me a pocketful of $$ I called Phil Long parts dept and told them that I was a member of the RMFTC, they dad the Part and quoted me $40.87. Not bad I thought. Since I live in Aurora I tried a call to Burt Ford Parts. They quoted me $28.68 and said the list price for that part was $35.85. What gives? Need less to say it only took me 5 minutes to get to Burt!

Hmm thats weird, I wonder if they quoted you wrong or something... I've shopped around and Phil Long usually even beats the online parts stores, etc... but either way, it's best to get the best deal possible :)

damn!
I forgot about the Phil Long discount... lmao
A couple of weeks ago I had to get a new speedo driven gear for the '69 and the dealership was the only place that carried them. I REALLY don't like havin' anything to do with Phil Long seein' as I worked for them and they have know idea how to treat employees properly, but I figured having a working speedo was more important than my grudge, lol. Oh well, who'd have thunk that a little teflon gear would be $20 anyway!!

I've used the Phil Long discount quite a few times. I've checked their prices compared to Sil Telhar (?sp) in Broomfield. Phil Long's prices have always been better. It's even been cost effective to drive the distance to Phil Long, when the Broomfield place is less than 10 minutes away.
I don't know if it matters, but I ask for the price first, then ask what it would be with the discount.
