As part of our sponsorship of the MaxFund Lucky Mutt Strut, we are allowed to have a "flier" put in each of the goody bags that is given to the 1000+ participants. While I'm sure most of the people there won't be Ford Truck fanatics, it's quite possible many of them will know people who are.
I designed the last flier, but it being in color makes it a bit cost prohibitive.
http://rmftc.com/flier.pdf

So I'm looking for anyone creative who might be able to make up a flier, black and white, that can be any size from 1/4 page to a full 8 1/2 x 11 page. It would be cool if it could incorporate trucks, and dogs in some way, since it is a dog event.

Anyone interested in helping out?

I don't have the artistic skills, but once somebody comes up with the flier, Cory and I will print this sucker out at work.

Wow thats awesome! Do you guys have a bulk paper slicer as well, so if we decide to do like a 1/4 sheet deal, it can slice all the pages the same so I won't have to sit there with scissors for hours? :)

No we don't, but we know another company that we can have do it for us.

Worse case scenario, I have a hand paper cutter like you'd find in many old-school offices. You know the kind, the ones you can use to cur off your arm.

I have an idea Matt. I know that several of us have dogs/cats. What if we get those members together and get a picture of the animals with the trucks or the banner? Since it has to be black and white I don't know how well that will work out, but its a shot.

Yeah I thought of that too... problem is I need to get moving on this, deadline is approaching... also, it'd have to be, like you said, black and white so anything "photographic" won't work too well.
Wish I knew someone good at cartooning or something, I could have them "cartoon" a picture of some folks standing in front of their trucks with animals or something, but I have zero artistic talent myself LOL.
UC, thanks for the offer on that too, that'd be a lot better then scissors, so long as my fingers don't get int eh way of the blade! :)

Matt, I printed out your PDF in black and white. I don’t think it looks bad, especially if we are trying to get something setup quickly. I would change some of the wording.

I think the first line should have the “F” capitalize in Ford.

I would remove the last two lines that read “Rocky mountain ford truck club” and “rmftc.com”. I think they are redundant since the name and address are on the logo. But, if we do keep “Rocky mountain ford truck club”, we should capitalize the first letter of each word since it’s our name.

We could try rewording the section over the picture. One idea can read:

The following three lines would be centered.

Truck events for all:
MaxFund, camping, truck shows, four wheeling, Toys for Tots, trail adoption, etc.
No dues or fees, it’s all about fun!

It does not have to be printed on white paper, if we want to print on yellow or light blue or something else to grab more attention.

Being that deadlines are what they are -- I think it looks good for a first draft. I'd take out the "Rocky mountian ford truck club" so it's not redundant. You can print it B&W and on blue paper. From a teacher's aspect, if it's on blue, it's easier to get attention. :)

I'll try to re-design a new flyer for ya.

we do have about two or three weeks before I have to submit something, and I'll be in Georgia for a week, so if anyone has the time to submit anything, that'd be cool.
Jeff, thanks for the pointers. If I have some time later I'll try to incorporate something.

ok here's something I whipped up... might show up better then the other group picture on the flier. It could also be printed in another color and it would look ok I think.
Whatcha think? :)

I'd be lying if I said I came up with it from scratch, the trucks were actually used on our old Ford Truck World shirts, LOL.
I set up as a 2-per-page PDF, it looks ok printed out, not sure how it would look on blue paper...

I realized it said "Ford Truck?" and not "Ford Truck/SUV?" so I fixed that, you may have to refresh to see the changes.
Jeff,a ny chance you could try to print it out on blue paper or something and see how it looks? Would probably have to do it in black/white so the blue of RMFTC.Com doesn't get absorbed by the blue paper :)

Cory and I both looked at the print out on blue and white paper. The blue looks much better.

how much would it cost me to do about 500-750 pages?

Walking Eagle

I talked it over with the boss and he said we can print for free. I'll just need to print it after work. I know somebody than can cut it. It may cost a few bucks, if it does I'll take care of it.

I think so. Just out of curiosity, can you get me a picture of what it looks like on blue paper? I dont have any blue paper to pritn it out onto.

Jeff, sounds great! How many did you make, just out of curiosity?
I got the banner I ordered a few days ago, looks great! Not bad for the price I paid either :)

I printed 500 sheets and this will give us a 1,000 once they are cut in half. Do we need more?

mattadams
04-11-2005, 10:34 PM
I think 1,000 should be enough. I'm not sure how many they are expecting, they should be able to give me a more accurate number here soon... Can we print more later in case they are needed?

Walking Eagle
04-11-2005, 10:47 PM
Yes, we can print more later. I'll hold off on getting these cut in case we decide to print more. I'll just need a couple of days notice to get them cut.

mattadams
05-02-2005, 10:33 PM
Jeff, I think the number is still around 1,000... they need them by June 3rd, so if you are oging to Chinamans, could you bring them to that run? June 3rd is the absolute deadline but the sooner the better.
I guess I'm living nearby you so its not quite as much of a track as it was before :).
