Grabbed this from another local club's website... looks like a good car show to go to, and it will help a good cause...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Location: Cuernavaca Park - Denver, CO (20th and I-25)
Show Registration: 2 Toy minimum donation please for free entry
Date: July 17th, 2005
Move-in: 11am
Trophy Presentation: Roughly 6pm.
The show is a Toys For Tots Benefit Show and BBQ. All toys are being donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Denver. We have several local and national sponsors for the show. Several out of state clubs, like Acrophobia and Pharcyde Customs are attending this show as well. We are expecting 75-100 entrant vehicles and 150-200 spectators (if not more). There will be a demo hop by Sam's Hydraulics and several club games going on throughout the day. There will also be a live DJ spinning all day. Can't forget about the BBQ either. We are also offering 35 custom trophies with "our own little touch" and $3000 worth of glass blown art on the top of each trophy. I do have to say, that these things are going to be sick.
***Pre-Registration Form coming soon***
BTW - Got permission to cover the show for Gauge Magazine @ www.gaugemagazine.com
Here is the flyer. (not the latest we have, but the most current online)
Don, don't make me come up there and beat your ass. LOL.
Everyone calls my truck a trailer queen, and I keep tellin em, the only time in its entire life its been on a trailer was when it was being towed to the transmission shop, LOL. I drive it everywhere. Granted I might not be wheeling it like crazy, but it gets mileage on it nonetheless :). Driving it out to Georgia next week.
I know a few of the people from Ruffneck. My friend is the promoter/marketing director for them. I have known about this show for months.
This should be a big show with some good competition. I imagine there will be ALOT of mini trucks. The club Acrophobia is based on mini trucks and they have some WILD rides and they are a BIG club.
I will most likely see you guys there.
Ryan-Thanks for showing this to me.
I am the one that posted that on the other site. I am also the webmaster and promoter/marketing director for Ruffneck Entertainment Venues.
Cory - I think you have REV confused with someone else. Jerry doesnt do fabrication and airbags. Ive done both of those on my truck. Sam's Hydraulics is a sponsor, not an organizer.
Also would like to add, Street Concepts (http://www.streetconcepts.com) has confirmed show coverage as well.
If any of you have any questions, feel free to ask away.
The staff at REV asks that if you know you are going to attend this show, that you preregister to assure that a spot is saved for you in the main parking. Thanks. Although the 4x4 guys are probably gonna be put in the grass (no offense if any taken)
Heres the link.
Not really. There is less then 7 weeks left till this event. Trophies have been ordered and will be put together soon, but kept "under wraps" till presentation. :lol:
We think we have room for about 120 or so cars/trucks on the pavement and another 20-30 in the grass for all you off road guys!!
Ive only gotten (1) RMFTC guy pre-registered right now....all in all, we have about 25 or so pre-reg's.
Going to have about 7-8 vendors, tons of give-a-ways and fun games all day. And of course the BBQ.
Come one, Come ALL!
DUE TO A CONFLICT OF INTEREST THE DAY OF THIS SHOW, we are asking that people start showing up at 9am or earlier!
Some group called Play: Coed have use of the softball field from 10-2, so in order to maintain our show structure, we need people to start filling up the parking lot early. I know we will be given a hard time (and they threatened us) by this group. They are expecting 100+ people, and there is no way, they are getting the park parking lot. So, COME EARLY....830-9am
Hey Bagged, just a thought, but if people start showing up at 9ish, would it be possible to do the trophies earlier then 6? That's a long time to be at a car show, especially in July heat. Just a thought.
I'm looking forward to the event, and I have a soft spot in my heart for the Ronald McDonald house. Years ago, my brother and his wife gave birth to a child very prematurely that had organ problems, and it required their baby to be treated at Duke university, hundreds of miles from home. Ronald McDonald house gave them a good place to stay, even with their other child, free of charge, for several weeks, until the baby unfortunately died about a month after being born. Without that, the expenses theyw oudl've incurred from hotels etc. for a month would've been more then they could handle. I'll be bringing a bunch of toys with me for sure!
To everyone else, this should be a fun event, so come along and make sure I"m not the only one there amongst all the imports and classics and hot rods! :).
We were doing the 9am thing in lieu of Play: Coed being there. Well, they are not going to be there anymore! WE WON THE PARK, so move in is from 11-2.....so come whenever, judging will start when there are a lot of people, but we arent taking anyone else after 2pm.
There is directions on the bottom of the flyer. Good thing I came to work tonight to check shit.
Just take I25 to 20th Ave. 20th Ave east to second light. Turn right at skate park. At stop sign turn right onto 19th. At next stop sign turn right again, and that street leads to the park.
Call me if you get lost. 303.478.5113
Jason, good job putting on the show today! I thought it went well, even though I didn't win anything, but thats ok, I thought the vehicles that did win for the most part deserved it. I just thought that Superman truck should have lost major points for tackiness, but oh well, its all in what people like and thats whats important...
If I had one suggestion to make for next year, I bet if you made it an indoor car show, it'd be a lot better. I know theres complications iwth that, it costs more, etc. but shows in the imddle of july are practically torture for the people that go.
Also, just an idea, but I think that the person that wins best in show, shouldn't also win best in their class. The one guy that won the truck class also won best in show, and don't get me wrong, he totally deserved it, not often you see a truck that impecibally clean... loved his "over 29,000 miles driven" LOL but I just figure it'd give more people a chance to win a trophy.
If only you would have had that spare tire Matt. LOL... I personally think roasting in near triple digit heat all day is part of the fun of entering car shows. It seems the only shows I enter are for charity so only ribbons are awarded, but there is always something for every car judged. I have a fourth place ribbon proudly hanging on my wall. LOL...
mattadams
I'd be happy with a ribbon or something too, just some sort of recognition, LOL.
One of these days Matt. Depends on the mood of the judges, I got 3rd at the exotic car show ( 3 cars in my class) and 1st at the MBCA show competing against the same 3 cars.
I think my next project... if I ever take on another project, or sell the truck, etc... is going to be a classic truck. They always seem to get more respect at shows, as pretty much anyone can buy a newer truck and fix it up, but fixing up old trucks, just having it in near stock condition is often enough... someday... maybe before I sell the truck I'll win at least one trophy, LOL.
The judging was OUT of my hands. I thought some people who won shouldnt have myself, but its over and done with and we cant change it. Tthats why I said something to you about your truck being locked up when you called. :roll: on the tackiness, but it still is a nice truck. At any rate, thanks for the props Matt. Hope you had a good time and got some food. The only place that might is the merchandise mart and I think I heard the cost of renting that was like at 4k for the afternoon. Do you have 4k? :lol:
That GMC or Chevy, definately was a nice truck. I didnt even get to read his sign or take as many pics as I wanted (to much running around to do).
Thanks guys!
