Yup, thats my goal. Sometime this year, after I get the chip put in and everything, I'm going to take the truck down to bandimere, running my 35"s (or maybe my 37"s, depending on when I go) and my goal is to beat 20 seconds. SWEET! :)

yeah but you have to remember, my truck is also about 1000 pounds heavier then the average F-150, between the extra weight in the rollbar, the toolbox, the winch mount up front, the extra suspension components, etc. It's also anything but aerodynamic. AND it's running huge tires.

Guest is someone with bigger than 33s who's done a bunch of performance mods.

Hey Cory, since you've pulled me out quite a few times when I'm stuck, I'll go ahead and pull you down the track.

Cory, you can run the 1/4 mile in 20 seconds? Damn this I gotta see!

No, he does it in about 2 minutes unless you hold a couple of beers in front of him. Then he's a blur.

best time was 57 sec i think my truck can do it in an 2min but now i could do it 1 min 30 sec that includes stoping to catch my breath

I think I can run in low 14's, but I guess I'll have to get on the track or a dyno to be official.

my dad's truck can run in the lower 14's/upper 13's. my truck on the other hand can run(like i would ever race it) about 18.5 to 19 and my truck has 190,000 miles. matt i am sure ur truck can run faster than 19's.

I would be suprised if anyone gets in the 15's.. A lightning is a different story though as most of those that I have seen run at Bandimere are high 14's. My turbo cavalier runs mid 14's (got vid to prove that) and I can beat the pants off most Z28's, GT stangs and quite a few rice grinders.

I see people all the time say they are going to run this time and it is usually 1 to 2 seconds slower then they say. Altitude is the devil! There are sooooo many factors that can change your times. My .02 cents..

My truck ran an 18.070 last year....Which sucks. I think i went with the wrong can for low end torque, i think my peak is 456ish , but thats at 2300 rpm if i remember right....I just wanna find a way to take it down to 16.5 and ill be happy with it. The altitude up here adds about a consistant 1.5 seconds compared to a run at sea level. My cars gonna be slow this year, with the 302, but im buying a 351c 4bbl, i think out of a 71 torino gt for it, then building it up for it. But yeah, What gearing do you have Matt....With anything below a 3.50, id say 22 flat....anything arounnd 3.73, id think 21, and if you have a 4.10, id think a 20.5... A bad wind will add an easy second or 2 too..

Go for it. I know with the computers you can buy, and just plug in, change paramiters, etc...performanceis super easy for newer vehicles.

Looked into any supercharger / Turbo applications for it, possibly sponsorshits..? I remember your old exhaust was getting in the way of your lift...Maybe time for a new Exhaust system from the head down and back. Id imagine theres throttle body swaps you can do too? But i really dont know anything about anything not carbuerated....Gears I think will be your friend, especially with Big Ole Tires. Lower gear, the better, and you can get away with a pretty low gear because of your overdrives, and increased tire diameter, but you probobally know all this already.

I have 4.56 gears. I have open catalytic convertors, free-flow headers, open exhaust, and FIPK. I am also probably upgrading my Mass Air Flow sensor, since mine is now bad... and may do the throttle body at some point as I have more funds available. But its not a big deal, my truck is certainly not built for racing.

Sorry, I'm taking another cheap shot across the bow.

Tell you what, I'll hold onto the winch. We'll find somebody else to hold onto the 37's, and I noticed Dom was missing some lights on his roll bar.

Yeah yeah... Tell you what, you get yourself a front-mounted hitch, and buy the wiring for the winch, and you can borrow the winch whenever you need it.

I will be at Truckfest, but not racing, I'd rather embarass myself when no one is watching :).
